The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

Mon article paru la semaine dernière dans National Review Online, portait le titre provocateur, « Bombarder l’Iran, ou comment sauver la présidence Obama », et pour provoquer, il a provoqué, c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire.

Les sites de gauche, comme ThinkProgress et DailyKos, ont réagi abondamment et de façon un peu folle en dénaturant mon raisonnement et en allant jusqu’à me donner des noms d’oiseaux. Die Welt, un journal allemand, a publié l’article en version traduite mais l’a ensuite retiré, tant mon analyse avait fait l’objet de virulentes critiques. (Lire la suite…)

Amnesty International is ‘damaged’ by Taliban link
An official at the human rights charity deplores its work with a ‘jihadist’

A SENIOR official at Amnesty International has accused the charity of putting the human rights of Al-Qaeda terror suspects above those of their victims.

Gita Sahgal, head of the gender unit at Amnesty’s international secretariat, believes that collaborating with Moazzam Begg, a former British inmate at Guantanamo Bay, “fundamentally damages” the organisation’s reputation.

Obama and liberals still just don’t get it
« Iam not an ideologue, » protested President Barack Obama at a gathering with Republican House members last week. Perhaps, but he does have a tenacious commitment to a set of political convictions.
Compare his 2010 State of the Union to his first address to Congress a year earlier. The consistency is remarkable. In 2009, after passing a $787 billion (now $862 billion) stimulus package, the largest spending bill in galactic history, he unveiled a manifesto for fundamentally restructuring the commanding heights of American society — health care, education and energy.
A year later, after stunning Democratic setbacks in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts, Obama gave a stay-the-course State of the Union address, pledging not to walk away from health care reform, seeking to turn college education increasingly into a federal entitlement and asking again for cap-and-trade energy legislation. Plus, of course, another stimulus package, this time renamed a « jobs bill. »
This being a democracy, don’t the Democrats see that clinging to this agenda will march them over a cliff? Don’t they understand Massachusetts?
Well, they understand it through a prism of two cherished axioms: The people are stupid and Republicans are bad. Result? The dim, led by the malicious, vote incorrectly.

C’est l’histoire d’un bûcheron québécois qui coupe du bois pour l’hiver. Un Indien, Sittingbull, passe par là,
et le bûcheron lui demande:
- L’hiver sera-t-il froid, grand chef indien?
- Oui, HUGH ! Hiver très froid.
Le bûcheron se remet à couper du bois de plus belle. Le lendemain, Sititngbull repasse par là
et le bûcheron lui demande si l’hiver sera vraiment aussi froid qu’on le dit.
L’indien répond:
-Oui, HUGH ! Hiver très rigoureux…
Le bûcheron reprend sa scie et coupe une montagne de bois.
Le jour suivant, Sittingbull repasse en disant:
- Hiver très, très rigoureux.
Le bûcheron, intrigué, lui demande:
- Mais, à la fin, dis-moi comment tu devines que l’hiver sera très froid!
- Chez nous, on a un dicton: Quand l’homme blanc coupe du bois, c’est que l’hiver va être très très froid.

Diplomat Whose Name Is Dirty Word in Arabic Rejected as Saudi Ambassador

A high-ranking Pakistani diplomat reportedly cannot be appointed ambassador to Saudi Arabia because in Arabic his name translates into a phrase more appropriate for a porn star, referring to the size of male genitals, Foreign Policy reported.

The Arabic transaltion of Akbar Zeb to « biggest d**k » has overwhelmed Saudi officials who have refused to allow his post there.

Zeb has run into this problem before when Pakistan tried to appoint him as ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, where he was rejected for the same reason, according to Foreign Policy.

Je n’étais nullement surpris ni déçu par votre lecture mesquine de mon livre « l’impasse islamique, la religion contre la vie ». Au contraire cela me réjouit car vos réactions confirment tout simplement ce que j’ai toujours pensé : l’islamisation est bien en marche, la culpabilité à son zénith. En lisant vos commentaires sur le livre, j’ai compris l’utilité d’un certain livre paru dernièrement en France « Comment parler des livres que l’on n’a pas lu ? » Aux jeux olympiques de la repentance, de la courbette et de la mauvaise foi, vous serez, messieurs, médailles d’or.

Pays-Bas: Wilders devant un tribunal

Le député néerlandais d’extrême droite Geert Wilders comparaissait pour la première fois mercredi devant un tribunal d’Amsterdam dans le cadre des poursuites pour incitation à la haine raciale et à la discrimination engagées contre lui par le parquet.
« M. Wilders a toujours fait les déclarations (qui lui sont reprochées) dans le cadre de sa fonction de député », a déclaré son avocat, Bram Moszkowicz, à l’ouverture de l’audience de procédure, placée sous haute surveillance policière.
